  1. Responsible Driving.

Ensure to always maintain a moderate speed level when on the road. There are usually a number of fast paced drivers who tend to cause havoc on the road.  It’s best not to join them so as to avoid accidents. Avoid stopping and starting suddenly as well as displaying other exhilarating stunts on the road. It doesn’t do your car any good.

  1. Don’t Overlook Minor Malfunctions.

When you notice a strange clanking sound or a hum in your car, ensure you get it checked. Those are usually indications of something not working properly. It is advisable to get those minor repairs fixed because ignoring them may lead to greater damage for your vehicle and may be more expensive to repair.

  1. Check Your Oil Regularly.

This is the basic mode of sustenance of your vehicle. For your vehicle to operate properly, the oil needs to be in good shape. Replace old, grimy oil and follow the recommended oil schedule for your vehicle. Ignoring oil change causes your vehicle to work harder which can lead to overheating of the car. This would cause a lot of damage to your car and a dent on your finances. Oil is necessary to keep all the parts functioning properly.  It is advisable to check your oil every 3000-5000 miles.

  1. Check Your Tires.

Take a frequent look at your tires and ensure they are not flat. Consistently gauge the tires and ensure they comply with the pressure levels advised in the owner’s manual. The pressure in the tires helps the car move more efficiently. Also change your tires when due. Pay attention to the expiry dates and the condition of the tire. Do a monthly visual check of your tire. Look out for bulges or blisters on the tire. Pay attention to vibrations too. A wheel that is out of place will cause a certain level of vibration and may grow worse if not checked.

  1. Check Your Air Filter.

The filter allows airflow and ensures harmful contaminants are kept out. Ignoring this will lead to excessive accumulation of dust in the filter. This can affect the overall performance of your car. Ensure the air filter is checked regularly. If your car is jerking on the road it may be an indication that not enough air is flowing into the engine. Also black smoke through the exhaust pipe may be an indication that you need to check your filter. Be sure to replace it at least once a year or every 10,000 miles.

  1. Keep Your Vehicle Clean.

A clean car contributes to a healthy car. Avoid collection of dust and debris in your car. Be sure to wash and wax your car regularly to maintain the shine on the outside. Also clean and air out the interior as well to keep it in good shape.
