IkokuOnline Emerges 2nd in the 2017 Edition of StartupSouth

eCommerce platform for auto-parts, Ikokuonline, has emerged 2nd in the 2017 edition of StartupSouth, an event that connects, exposes and attracts investment to startups and founders operating within the south-south/south-east.

The event, which held on November 9th 2017 in Aba, Abia state, saw 11 startups pitch to a team of jury. At the end of the keenly contested business pitch, IkokuOnline was named one of the top 3, emerging 2nd, with Touchabl Pictures and Extraclass coming 1st and 3rd respectively.

Winning at the event earned all 3 startups recognition from all partners and stakeholders of StartupSouth.

IkokuOnline’s StartupSouth victory comes on the heels of being one of the 100 startups selected for Startup Istanbul. Since launch, the team has continued to make giant strides. While dominating the auto parts market online, they’ve gained recognition at both local and international level.

In the words of cofounder, Emmanuel Ugochukwu, “we’re excited to be one of the winners of StartupSouth3. It didn’t come easy; we pitched alongside a number of startups, all of which were equally great ideas. So, coming second means we’re doing something well.”

This year’s edition of the StartupSouth, which is the third, was tagged, the Made in Aba edition, and it focused on discussing solution to problems faced by local tech makers.

StartupSouth is designed to educate and connect young people with brilliant ideas to people looking to invest in big ideas. Presentations and activities at the event are all structured to help participants learn from experts and provide a great opportunity for networking.
